Walsall BME Advice Centre is pleased to announce the launching of 'Our World' Women's Intergenerational Health & Wellbeing Network
It's free to attend the session and free refreshments are provided.
The objective of the project is to engage women that are less likely to socialise, taking up healthy lifestyles and accessing statutory and other essential services and are at risk of social isolation or living with long-term health conditions such as diabetes, dementia, depression, arthritis etc. or experience anxiety, low self esteem or any other mental/physical health condition.
It is a well-established fact that age and loneliness can be one of the significant risk factors for developing dementia, depression and other health issues and people from economically disadvantaged communities are the most high-risk groups.
Activities will include seated exercise, Taikowando, workshops, group swimming sessions, awareness sessions, health checks, Skittles, Floor basketball, healthy cooking, basic baking, and various stimulating activities that cater the needs of both younger and older adults.
Please see leaflet for details.
