As a finalist in the 2017 national learning disabilities and autism awards, the befriending service offers a pathway of support to reduce social isolation and increase confidence and social skills in adults with autism.
There are two elements to the support available.
- You can access 1:1 befriending opportunities, where you will be matched with a befriender and supported to go out into the community once a month to take part in acitivites of your choosing.
- We also offer monthly groups that you could access as part of the service. There are social groups where you would go out into the community to do an activity, or a topic group where you would get the opportunity to take part in a discussion and learn more about your autism.
Support can last for up to two years dependent on individual needs.
